the thing about the high desert is it’s so incredibly green — when the conditions are right. it’s not the same type of green as a forest or a woodland, but it is green.
the desert greens have huge variety & are interspersed with seemingly brittle sticks & blooming yellow flowers. why are almost all the flowers in the desert yellow? maybe it’s another way of worshiping the sun.
the greens run from the cool almost blue hues of a cactus to the deep shade of the honey mesquite exploding in growth & everything in between.
